Taken (2008)
Former U.S. Central Intelligence Agency operative Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) tries to have a closer relationship with his 17-year-old daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace). She lives with her mother, Lenore (Famke Janssen), and her wealthy stepfather, Stuart (Xander Berkeley), in California; he feels embarrassed about her stepfather spoiling her, and wishes to spend time with her. While working as security at a concert with former colleagues, Bryan saves a pop star Sheerah (Holly Valance) from an assailant as she exits the stage and begins for her limo outside of the stadium. Sheerah, grateful about being saved, agrees to tutor Kim after Bryan says she aspires to be a singer. Kim asks Bryan for permission to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda (Katie Cassidy). Bryan balks at the two girls travelling alone, but relents when Lenore -his ex-wife- complains that he is overprotective. He gives Kim an international cellphone, and makes her promise to call every day. At Los Angeles International Airport, he learns that the girls are not staying in Paris, but are following U2 during their European tour.
Arriving in Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, Kim and Amanda meet Peter (Nicolas Giraud), a scout for a kidnapping gang, who offers to share a cab with them and so learns where they are staying. Kim believes they are staying with Amanda's cousins but, upon arriving at the apartment, learns that the cousins are actually in Spain, and becomes slightly nervous. She retains herself in a quiet room while her friend presents loud music on her stereo not too far away. While talking to Bryan on the phone in the bathroom, Kim sees Amanda being kidnapped by intruders. Bryan instructs her to go to the nearest room and hide under a bed. He explains that when the men find her, she has to shout out their physical descriptions. Kim is pulled out violently from under the bed, and she complies with her father's instructions before the phone is found. Bryan warns the person over the phone that they have this one chance to release his daughter, or else he will begin hunting them down and killing them. He's told "good luck" and the connection is terminated.
Bryan informs Stuart and Lenore of Kim's abduction. Bryan's former colleague Sam (Leland Orser) tells him that based on the recording, Kim has probably been taken by an Albanian human trafficking ring that has recently begun abducting female tourists, and that if she is not rescued within ninety-six hours, she will likely never be found. Bryan travels to Paris in a private jet paid for by Stuart and finds Peter at the airport attempting to lure another tourist. After a confrontation and chase, Peter is hit and killed by a passing truck before Bryan can interrogate him.
Bryan then seeks out his old friend, Jean-Claude Pitrel (Olivier Rabourdin), a former French intelligence officer who now works a desk job. Jean-Claude is relatively unhelpful but does direct Bryan to Porte de Clichy, where an East European gang are rumored to be prostituting women. Jean-Claude afterwards has the police put a tail on Bryan and soon warns Bryan that his vigilante methods will result in him being deported, but Bryan avoids arrest. Bryan follows one gangster to a brothel at a construction site, where he finds a girl wearing Kim's jacket. He fights off the brothel guards and escapes with the girl. After the girl awakens, she gives Bryan enough information about the house where she met Kim to allow him to find it.
Bryan confronts the Albanians, and identifies the kidnapper on the phone as Marko (Arben Bajraktaraj). He wounds Marko and kills the others. Searching the house, he finds several captive teens, including Amanda, who is dead from an apparent overdose. In the basement of the house, Bryan straps Marko into a makeshift electric chair and tortures him into divulging Kim's location; as a virgin, she was very valuable on the black market, and was sold to an auctioneer named Patrice Saint-Clair (Gérard Watkins). Bryan leaves Marko to suffer, as he becomes electrocuted to death, leaving him to visit Jean-Claude at home. Having deduced that Jean-Claude is taking kickbacks from the kidnappers, he extracts Saint-Clair's home address by threatening to kill his wife.
Bryan infiltrates Saint-Clair's mansion, where a large party is the facade for an auction of girls in the basement. At this time he realizes that he is running out of time, as he runs through the hallways of the building in attempt to reach his destination. He reaches a sophisticated room, where behind glass he can see women being purchased by a man in a leather chair in front of him. After several woman get bought, the 'final attraction' enters the room, and Bryan recognises her as his daughter. Bryan pulls a gun on the man in the chair in front of him, ordering him to purchase his daughter, but is knocked out after he leaves the room. Bryan awakes to find himself chained to a pipe in a boiler room. Several men stand around him, and he is confronted about his identity by Saint-Clair. When he leaves the room, Bryan frees himself and kills Saint-Clair's henchmen. He finds Saint-Clair in the elevator by the hall where he was recently freed from. He forces Saint-Clair to reveal where Kim has been taken before shooting him in the head and leaving his body to be found by guests. Bryan races to the luxury yacht owned by a prince named Raman (Nabil Massad) and boards it. There, he kills the boat's guards, confronts Raman in his boudoir, and shoots him in the head - thus rescuing his daughter. They both return to the U.S. where Kim is reunited with her mother and stepfather. Afterward, Bryan takes Kim to see Sheerah for her first singing lesson.

"Just Another Saturday Night"
Marv (Mickey Rourke) regains consciousness on a highway overlooking the Projects, surrounded by several dead young men and a crashed police car and with no memory of how he got there. He retraces his steps, recalling since it's Saturday, he watched Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba) dance at Kadie's Saloon. Stepping outside, he encounters four rich frat boys burning a homeless man alive. When Marv intervenes, the leader of the frat boys shoots him in the arm, calling him "Bernini Boy", which Marv mishears as "Bernie". They flee, and Marv follows, stealing a Police car on the way, which he crashes into their car, leading to his blackout and memory loss. He follows the two surviving frat boys into The Projects, the neighborhood where he grew up, and with the assistance of the deadly residents lurking in the shadows, he dispatches the frat boys. He questions the leader about being called "Bernini boy" and learns that it is the brand of coat he is wearing. After slitting the boy's throat, he considers his coat, and realizes he can't remember how he acquired it.
"The Long Bad Night (Part I)"
Johnny (Joseph Gordon Levitt), a cocky young gambler, arrives in Sin City and heads to Kadie's place, where he immediately hits the jackpot on multiple slot machines. Taking a young waitress, Marcie (Julia Garner) with him as a good luck charm, he buys into the backroom poker game led by the all-powerful Senator Roark (Powers Boothe). Johnny repeatedly wins in the high-stakes game, and cleans the senator out. One other player, the corrupt police lieutenant Liebowitz (Jude Ciccolella), warns him to flee the city, but instead Johnny takes Marcie out for a night on the town. He walks her home when Roark's goons suddenly attack him. He fights them off and tells Marcie to meet him at a hotel before he is escorted into the Senator's waiting limousine. In payment for the humiliation he suffered at the card game, Roark takes back his money and uses a pair of pliers to break three of Johnny's fingers. They toss him from the car and the Senator shoots Johnny in the leg. Roark then reveals that he recognized Johnny as his illegitimate son. However, he remarks that he only considered his dead son Roark Jr. his flesh and blood. He leaves Johnny alive, preferring to let him suffer, and Johnny swears revenge.
"A Dame to Kill For"
Years before "The Big Fat Kill", Dwight McCarthy (Josh Brolin) attempts to put his violent past behind him, working as a private detective and leading a life of complete sobriety, struggling daily to refuse his inner demons. After saving the life of a young hooker (Juno Temple) who is nearly murdered by her businessman lover (Ray Liotta) he receives an unexpected phone call from his former lover Ava Lord (Eva Green), who left Dwight four years prior for a wealthy tycoon, Damian Lord (Marton Csokas). She begs him to meet her at Kadie's saloon, and despite his embittered feelings, he agrees. When Ava arrives, she begs forgiveness for leaving him, and infers she is afraid for her life before her massive chauffeur, Manute (Dennis Haysbert) arrives to escort her home. Unable to get her out of his mind, Dwight sneaks into Damian Lord's estate, where he observes Ava swimming, but is caught and beaten for his trouble. Dwight is returned home, where a nude Ava waits for him. He tries to throw her out, but can't resist her and they make love. She tells him that Damian and Manute torture her physically and mentally, and she knows Damian will kill her soon. Manute arrives and viciously beats a naked Dwight, tossing him out a window.
Determined to rescue Ava, Dwight recruits Marv to help him, and they mount an assault on Lord's compound. Marv attacks Manute, putting him in traction and tearing out his eye. Dwight confronts Damian Lord, who denies Ava's accusations, and an enraged Dwight beats him to death. As he reacts in horror, Ava appears and shoots Dwight several times, taunting him and thanking him for helping her murder her husband and take over his business. She shoots him in the face and forces him to fall out of a window, where Marv rescues him and takes him to Old Town. Dwight's old flame, Gail (Rosario Dawson), recognizes him and saves his life. With the help of Gail and the deadly assassin Miho (Jamie Chung), Dwight undergoes reconstructive surgery on his face and plots his revenge.
Meanwhile, two detectives, Mort (Christopher Meloni) and Bob (Jeremy Piven) investigate Damian's death. Ava claims Dwight was an obsessive ex-lover, and he killed her husband in a jealous rage. Bob is skeptical but Ava seduces Mort, who believes her every word. They begin an affair and Ava pressures him to find and kill Dwight. When Mort, obsessed with Ava, attempts to track Dwight down in Old Town (an action that would break the truce between the police and the prostitutes), Bob attempts to stop him. An enraged Mort shoots Bob in the head, then turns the gun on himself and dies on the roadside. Out of options, Ava reluctantly partners with the mob boss Wallenquist (Stacey Keach).
Dwight (with his reconstructed new face), accompanied by Gail and Miho, poses as Wallenquist's man from Phoenix. Inside Ava's estate, however, Manute sees past the new face and captures Dwight. Gail and Miho strike from Dwight's car, and Dwight shoots Manute with a hidden .25 he had up his left sleeve. Six bullets fail to kill him, and Manute aims shakily at Dwight as Ava unexpectedly grabs one of Manute's guns, shooting Manute several times. She attempts to convince Dwight to pair with her, and that the pain he suffered revealed his true intentions, but Dwight shoots her mid-kiss, and she dies in his arms.
"The Long Bad Night (Part II)"
Johnny visits an unlicensed doctor, Kroenig (Christopher Lloyd) who shoots up heroin before trading his services for Johnny's last forty dollars and his shoes. Realizing he left Marcie unprotected, Johnny flees to her hotel, but finds the Senator waiting for him along with Marcie's dismembered head and hands. Again, the senator lets him go. Intent on taking down Roark, Johnny scrounges a dollar from a sympathetic waitress (Lady Gaga) which he uses to regain enough money playing slots to buy his way into Roark's game the following night. Playing a card shark's con, Johnny folds his first few hands, allowing Roark to taunt him about his dead mother. He once again cons Roark into going all in, and then reveals his winning hand. Johnny taunts his father, reminding him that tonight's story of how the same man beat him twice will follow him for the rest of his life. His vengeance completed, Johnny smiles resignedly as Roark dismissively shoots him in the head, commanding his men to get rid of the body.
"Nancy's Last Dance"
Set four years after "That Yellow Bastard", Nancy Callahan struggles to cope with John Hartigan's selfless suicide. Drinking heavily, she is obsessed with vengeance on Senator Roark, for having driven Hartigan to kill himself. As she wallows in despair, the ghost of Hartigan (Bruce Willis) watches over her, unable to reach her but still attempting to help. On the same night that Johnny joins the backroom poker game, Nancy attempts to shoot Roark from the stage of Kadie's, but finds herself unable to pull the trigger, possibly due to Hartigan's ghostly influence.
Nancy hallucinates a visit from Roark, and shortly thereafter cuts her hair and smashes a mirror, using its shards to cut her face. She decides to get Marv to help her kill Roark by showing him the scars, and making him believe Roark was responsible. As they step out of the club, they meet a motorcycle gang there to shoot up the place. Marv kills two, but leaves their leader for Nancy to finish off. The pair mount an assault on Roark's compound, and Marv slaughters Roark's bodyguards while Nancy picks off the guards with a crossbow. Marv is wounded, and Nancy continues on to confront Roark by herself. Roark shoots her several times and is about to finish her off when Hartigan's ghost suddenly flashes in the mirror to distract him, which gives Nancy enough time to recover and shoot him dead.
A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014)

In 1991 Manhattan, Mathew Scudder, an off-duty New York Police Department (NYPD) officer, is unexpectedly caught up in an armed robbery at a bar where officers drink for free. Scudder guns down the would-be thieves, however one of his bullets inadvertently strikes a seven year old girl, killing her instantly. Shaken from the experience, Scudder quits the force, and spends the next eight years in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) while moonlighting as a an unlicensed private eye.
One night, after an AA meeting, Scudder is approached by the brother of a man named Kenny seeking to employ the PI to locate his wife's killer. Kenny explains that his wife was abducted for a ransom, the kidnappers killed his wife after he paid the $400,000 ransom, cutting her up in small pieces before returning her in the dismembered state to Kenny. Reluctantly, Scudder accepts the job.
At a local library, Scudder meets an adolescent named TJ, who helps Scudder by locating information on the net concerning similar cases to Kenny's. Scudder eventually traces the kidnappers' MO, and meets a cemetery groundsman who discovered one of the victim's remains while fishing trash bags out of a pond. After trailing the groundsman back to his house Scudder learns that he was an accomplice for one of the murders, and has had trouble getting over his role in the homicide. The groundsman explains that he met the two men that Scudder is after in a movie store; both men apparently shared a fetish-like interest in death. Scudder learns one of the two men goes by the name Ray, but before he can glean any further information, the groundsman abruptly kills himself by stepping off the roof of his apartment building. Upon further investigation, Scudder determines that the two men he is after were at one point somehow affiliated with the DEA, and have been targeting drug dealers from whom to extort money.
In a residential neighborhood, Ray and his accomplice prepare to abduct another woman, however Ray waves the kidnapping at the last minute. As the two prepare to leave Ray observes the target's daughter leave a house, and retools their kidnapping attempt to take the girl. When Scudder learns of the kidnapping he has TJ bring a box or his old police equipment to the victim's house, and instructs the victim to refuse payment unless they can prove the girl is still alive, correctly guessing that the kidnappers will kill the girl regardless of whether the ransom is paid. Scudder lures Ray and his accomplice out by forcing them to pick up the ransom in person. After the ransom is paid, a shoot-out occurs, injuring Ray. Ray and his partner flee the drop site, unaware that in the ensuing shoot out TJ managed to sneak into their van.
At their safe house, Ray attempts to get medical treatment for his gunshot wounds, however Ray's partner elects to kill him instead. After TJ calls Scudder with the safe house's location, Scudder and his ad hoc team arrive, precipitating a brief struggle. Scudder's people successfully restrain the second man, at which point Scudder instructs TJ to return to his place. After offering Kenny the chance to turn him in or obtain his revenge, Kenny opts for the latter, but the restrained second man escapes and kills Kenny before he can fulfill his wish. Another struggle ensues between Scudder and the second murderer, which ends when Scudder shoots the man in the head at close range. As the police arrive to secure and the scene and wrap up the case Scudder then returns to his apartment.
The Equalizer (2014)
Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) is a retired black ops government operative who lives in Boston, Massachusetts and works at a Home Mart hardware store. McCall has promised to his recently-deceased wife that he'd leave his old life behind, but is compelled to act when Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), a young prostitute he had befriended, is hospitalized after being brutally beaten by her pimp, Slavi (David Meunier). McCall tries to convince Slavi to release Teri by paying him, but Slavi refuses and McCall kills him, unaware he's a member of the Russian mafia. In retaliation, Vladimir Pushkin (Vladimir Kulich), sends his enforcer, Teddy (Marton Csokas), to Boston to eliminate McCall. After evading several assassination attempts, McCall visits fellow retired operatives Brian Plummer (Bill Pullman) and Susan Plummer (Melissa Leo) in Virginia, who help him acquire intelligence on Pushkin's activities. McCall then captures Frank Masters (David Harbour), a corrupt Bostonian policeman who has been aiding Teddy, and forces him to help in his efforts to sabotage Pushkin's operations in Boston.
In retaliation for McCall's attacks, Teddy and his men attack Home Mart and take McCall's friends hostage to lure him out, threatening to kill them if he does not surrender. Having anticipated that, McCall booby-traps the entire store, and discretely kills off Teddy's men one by one before finally killing Teddy himself, by shooting him in his throat with a nail gun. McCall then travels to Moscow, Russia and kills Pushkin and his men before returning to Boston, where he reunites with Teri, who has recovered from her wounds and thanks him for giving her a second chance. McCall is inspired to continue using his skills to help people in desperate need and puts an online ad, identifying himself as "The Equalizer". He soon receives another plea for help and sets off to answer it.
Eden
This story is based true-to-life were every young lady is involved most especially for those who loves night out with friends without thinking of their parents rules and regulation at their young ages. I don't think this is released here in the Philippines maybe it's because of the story , for me its not important how bad the characters showed here its the lesson itself is the most important thing we need to understand. They've open our eyes that this is happening in the real world and we have to think of a solution on how to stop this.
At the beginning of the story there is family who owned a shop ( taxidermy - stuffing of animal skin and put it as a display) the young lady named Hyun Jae is a sweet eighteen-year-old Korean-American girl living with her parents somewhere in New Mexico who immigrated in US eight years earlier. She has a friend named Abby who is living next door , she is the one who give bad influences to Hyune Jae, one night when Hyune Jae's mother allow her to go to a friend and let her finish the task until 10 pm only and she needs to come home on time.That night they went to a local bar in town where she used her fake i.d given by her friend Abby and met this guy wearing a fire-fighter uniform after a long night her friend suddenly disappear so that the guy he met will take her home. This guy pull over in a parking lot and kiss Hyune Jae but all of a sudden there is another car stops at their back then the guy with a fire fighter look leave their car and talk to unknown person driving the other car, when Hyune Jae noticed a policeman uniform and the fire fighter suite is fake she decided to run outside the car to escape but she was bumped to her head and woke up inside a trunk of a car with an identified man who calls her "baby girl".
After several hours on the road, Jae arrives at an isolated warehouse situated in the middle of a Nevadan desert, where she is put in a sketchy hospital room and has her braces and other belongings forcibly removed. Confused and terrified, Jae meets the leader of the operation, the surprisingly relaxed and friendly corrupt federal marshal Bob Gault (Beau Bridges), and his overseer, Vaughan (Matt O'Leary), a short-tempered and drug-addicted striver. After confirming her suspicions that she is now part of a sex-trafficking corporation, Gault christens her with her new name, Eden, named after the place where she and her family used to live, and tells her that any acts of trouble could end with the harm of her family. Gault tells her that she has a few days to accept this reality and after that, she would start working for him.
Jae, now Eden, spends the next few days getting to know the horrors of her new life as a forced prostitute. Living with many other underage girls from all parts of the world who are frequently sent out for “dates” with clients, all of the workers, including Eden, are consistently drugged into complacency. First, she is forced to dress in an erotic outfit with another girl and driven to a studio to star in an adult video. Several days later, Vaughan takes Eden to meet her first customer, where she promptly attempts her first escape by injuring her client and running to a neighboring house for help. Vaughan quickly captures Eden and, after convincing the disgruntled neighbors not to call the cops, takes her back to the warehouse where she is punished by being forced to lie in a tub full of ice for several hours. On one occasion, Eden is taken to a fraternity house along with two other girls and were gang raped by dozens of fraternity members. During her time on lockdown, Eden befriends a young, Hispanic girl named Priscilla (Jeannine Monterroza), who warns her not to let the leaders of the organization know her real age. Before she can learn more, Priscilla is abruptly taken to an unknown destination, and Eden is left alone once again.
A year passes, and at nineteen Eden has slowly begun to understand the inner workings of the sex trade and knows she has little time left before she is no longer useful to the corporation. When she tells Vaughan that he’s being consistently scammed in their gigs, Vaughan realizes Eden’s potential and takes her under his wing, forming an uneasy alliance. Drawing her out of the “field” of sex work, he gives her an office job answering phone calls from clients and allowing her to join him on trips running errands for the company. During one of these excursions, Vaughan eventually teaches Eden how to drive, and during the lesson, when a drugged Eden attempts to play the role she used on her past clients, Vaughan flinches and tells her he’s “not one of those motherfuckers.” As a tentative bond forms between the two, with Eden staying with Vaughan even when he brutally murders Gault during a boat trip after the disposal of two bodies, Vaughan eventually takes her to the house of Mario (Eddie Martinez), a man who delivers the babies of some of the sex slaves and sells them for the company’s profit. Recognizing Mario as the man who called her “baby girl” and the one who brought her to the warehouse in the trunk of his car, Eden grows suspicious and explores his house, discovering a pregnant Priscilla who is pleasantly ignorant of the fate of her unborn child. Promising she will return, Eden leaves visibly disturbed, attracting Vaughan's notice. Apprehensive, Vaughan makes her to prove her loyalty to the organization by forcing her to almost execute one of the sex workers, stopping Eden at the last second and hugging her, finally giving her his full trust.
When Eden and Vaughan return to the warehouse, they are told that one of their men betrayed the company and that they all need to make an abrupt relocation to an unidentified spot. As all of the sex workers are packed into vans and their belongings are burned and disposed of, Eden and Vaughan go to a safe house to collect what they need before the trip. Once there, Vaughan reveals to Eden that they are moving to Dubai, before leaving her on the couch to find a duffel bag in one of the rooms. Realizing that Dubai is much too far away to have any hope of ever returning home, Eden decides that she must make her escape now. Acting quickly, Eden takes Vaughan’s crack pipe from the table and sprays poisonous fumes through the tube before placing it strategically in the same spot. When Vaughan returns, he tells her that she doesn’t have the worry about Dubai and that they are “partners” that could easily take over the business. Off her nod, he takes a hit from his pipe, begins to choke from the lethal fumes, and dies as Eden tenderly strokes his hair. Eden then cuts her location bracelet from her ankle and drives Vaughan’s car to Mario’s house, where she tricks him into leading her to Priscilla’s room before injecting him with poison. Running into Priscilla’s room, Eden reveals to Priscilla that her baby was sold and that they have to leave. The two of them step over Mario’s body and drive off into the desert until they reach a pay phone. The last scene is Eden calling her house and talking to her mother for the first time in two years.
Bedevilled (2010)
"Kim Bok-nam salinsageonui jeonmal" (original title)
Hae-won is a middle-rank officer working in a Seoul bank. A severe, tense single woman, she is being brought down by the work-related stress and the hypercompetitive environment she finds herself in. Desperate, she takes up an offer from a long-forgotten friend and takes off for a private vacation in Mudo, a desolate Southern island in which she had spent childhood. Arriving at the island, she is warmly welcomed by Bok-nam, with whom she had a close friendship when both were in their teens but whose constant letters she's since ignored. Life on the backward, undeveloped island is hard, and Bok-nam is treated as little more than a slave by her abusive husband Man-jong, his brother and the local old women. All of Bok-nam's love is reserved for her young daughter Yeon-hee, with whom she tries to escape from the small, claustrophobic island. But when that results in tragedy, the woman finally snaps, unleashing all her demons, as Bok-nam takes a sickle in her hand.
REVIEW:
I'm quite disappointed with how the movie ends but in some ways, I like it. The cast's are good but there was a point that I get really bored that I almost want to stop watching. For those who love horror and crime stories this would be a good one for the list.
RED 2 (2013)
Three years after the previous film, while trying to lead a normal life with girlfriend Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker), Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is approached by Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), who claims people are still after them, but Frank dismisses him. After appealing a second time, Marvin drives off, and his car explodes. Although Frank does not believe Marvin is dead, Sarah convinces him to go to Marvin's funeral where he delivers a teary-eyed eulogy. After the funeral, a group of government agents approach Frank and take him to be interrogated at a Yankee White Facility. During the interrogation, Jack Horton (Neal McDonough) appears with an armed SWATteam, kills most of the facility's personnel, and tells Frank that he will torture Sarah until he gets information out of Frank. Frank escapes from the room, evades Horton's assassins, and with the sudden timely help of Marvin, who turns out to be alive, goes on the run with Sarah. Marvin explains that he and Frank are being hunted because they were listed as participants in aClandestine operation codenamed Nightshade, conducted during the Cold War to smuggle a nuclear weapon into Russia piece by piece. Horton has convinced world agencies that Frank and his crew are terrorists and must be stopped. Victoria (Helen Mirren) calls, telling Frank she has been contractedby MI6 to kill the three of them. Meanwhile, top contract killer Han Cho-Bai (Lee Byung-hun), whom Horton knows is seeking revenge on Frank, is also hired.
Frank, Marvin, and Sarah steal Han's plane and fly to Paris to find a man nicknamed "The Frog" (David Thewlis), with the Americans and Han in pursuit. As they arrive in Paris, they are stopped by Katya (Catherine Zeta-Jones), a Russian secret agent with whom Frank had a relationship earlier in his career. Katya is also in search of Nightshade, and joins them to find the Frog. When he sees them the Frog flees, but Frank and Katya catch him and bring him back to his house, where Sarah seduces him, both to help them and to prove she is a better girlfriend than Katya. The Frog gives them the key to his security box, which Katya apparently takes from Frank after drugging him; but Marvin, anticipating this, had handed a similar-looking key to Frank before his meeting with her. Marvin, Frank, and Sarah later find documents in the Frog's security box which point to Dr. Edward Bailey (Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant physicist, as the creator of the Operation Nightshade bomb.
They find that Bailey is alive, held thirty-two years in a maximum security asylum for the criminally insane in London. Victoria (alerted by Marvin) unexpectedly confronts the trio, but helps to fake their deaths and then gain access to the asylum. Frank and Victoria meet Bailey, who is hyperactive and cannot rationally respond to their questions thanks to mind-fogging drugs the asylum had been giving him, so they take him to one of Marvin's safehouses. After the drugs begin to wear off, Bailey remembers the bomb is still in Moscow. They go to Moscow, and Bailey concludes he hid the bomb in the Kremlin. They break into the Kremlin, and Bailey locates the suitcase-sized bomb, which is powered by red mercury, which has no radioactive signature and causes no fallout. As they are about to leave, Katya stops them. Frank persuades her to switch to their side. After they escape and are celebrating, Victoria, who has escaped MI6 imprisonment for failing to kill him, calls Frank from London and tells him that Bailey was locked up because he had wanted to detonate the bomb, not sell it. Bailey quickly holds Frank at gunpoint and confirms Victoria's message, revealing that he made a deal with Horton and the Americans to give them the red mercury. He shoots Katya, staging her death at Frank's hands, and leaves with the bomb case. Horton reneges on his deal with Bailey, intending to interrogate him until all his secrets have been tortured out of him, but Bailey during air transit escapes using a nerve gas he created, administering the antidote to both himself and Horton. Bailey then moves to the Iranian embassy in London; before Frank can follow him, Han attacks. Reaching a standoff, Frank urges Han to join sides with him and stop the bomb. Han finally relents, and the five enact a plan to recapture Bailey and the bomb.
Sarah first seduces the Iranian ambassador, then takes him hostage. Marvin poses as a person seeking to defect to Iran, causes a diversion with the embassy plumbing, and the disguised team comes to "fix" it. They discover in the ambassador's safe plans disclosing the location of the bomb, but find that Bailey has already triggered the bomb's countdown timer and killed Horton. When they are discovered by embassy guards, Bailey seizes Sarah and flees to the airport to escape the imminent explosion. Frank, Marvin, Victoria, and Han, taking the active bomb case with them, give chase, but Marvin cannot stop the countdown. Frank, holding the bomb case, boards the plane and confronts Bailey who releases Sarah and forcefully insists he take the bomb off the plane with her. They rejoin Marvin, Victoria, and Han and wait for death as Han's plane takes off. As it disappears high in the sky it explodes in an immense fireball. Frank reveals that he had covertly placed the bomb from the case into a compartment near the plane's exit and confronted Bailey with only a closed empty case. The closing scene shows Sarah enjoying herself on a mission in Caracas with Frank and Marvin.

Frank Moses (Bruce Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, is retired and living a quiet life in a Cleveland suburb. However, Frank feels lonely and often chats on the phone with Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker), a customer service agent who works for the GSA pension office in Kansas City. He creates opportunities to talk to her by tearing up his pension checks and calling her to say they had never arrived.
His life is disrupted when a six-person hit squad raids his house in the middle of the night. Frank handily kills the entire squad. Knowing they have tapped his phone, he goes to Kansas City to protect Sarah. She refuses to go, so he binds and gags her with duct tape and she becomes Frank's reluctant companion, while he tries to find out who is trying to kill him, and track down his old associates for help. Meanwhile, CIA agent William Cooper (Karl Urban) is assigned to hunt and kill Frank.
Frank first goes to New Orleans and after leaving Sarah bound and gagged in their hotel room, he meets with his terminally ill mentor Joe Matheson (Morgan Freeman), living in a retirement community. Joe tells Frank that the same hit squad was also responsible for the murder of a reporter for The New York Times. Sarah manages to break free but is rescued by Frank when another agent, posing as a police officer, tries to drug her. Cooper attacks them but Frank tricks the police, so that the police arrest Cooper, which gives them time to escape. The two head to New York City and find clues left behind by the deceased reporter, which leads them to a hit list. They then track down Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), also a former black ops agent and a paranoid conspiracy theorist, to provide more information.
After reading the list, Marvin tells them that the names on the list are all connected to a 1981 secret mission in Guatemala in which Frank and Marvin participated, and that one person, Gabriel Singer (James Remar), is still alive. The trio track down Singer, who tells them that the mission involved extracting a person from a village and that everybody on the list has been killed to silence them. Singer is then assassinated by a helicopter-borne machine-gunner, and the team escapes as Cooper closes in. Frank goes to ex-Russian secret agent Ivan Simanov (Brian Cox), offering him a favor in exchange for his help in infiltrating CIA headquarters. Along with Sarah, Frank gets inside and the records keeper (Ernest Borgnine) - who has much respect for Frank - simply hands him the Guatemala file. Frank goes to confront Cooper in his office and the two have a vicious fight. Though Frank was victorious, he is shot by Cooper during his escape. Having escaped an attempt on his life, Joe arrives and helps extract the team. They all hide out in the home of Victoria (Helen Mirren), who treats Frank's wound and - also missing her old life as a wetwork agent - joins the team.
After reviewing the file, all the team can figure out is that the only man involved on the reporter's list but not in the file, Alexander Dunning (Richard Dreyfuss), has some way of protecting himself. Joe masquerades as a dictator from an unnamed country and secures a meeting with Dunning, who is an illegal arms dealer. As Victoria waits outside with Sarah to keep watch, Dunning reveals under interrogation that the mission was to extract the now–Vice President Robert Stanton (Julian McMahon), who at the time was a young lieutenant who massacred the village civilians, and that Stanton is trying to erase all the loose ends. At that moment, Cooper and the FBI surround Dunning's mansion. Cooper tries to negotiate Frank's surrender, but Frank tells Cooper about the vice president's treachery. Joe sacrifices himself by pretending to be Frank surrendering, and, as Joe exits the house, he is killed by an unknown sniper. The confusion, as well as Victoria's cover fire, buys the team enough time to escape, but Sarah falls down a slope and is captured. Frank calls Cooper from Cooper's family home and threatens the family if Sarah is harmed, and says that he intends to kill Stanton.
The team, along with Ivan, who is Victoria's former lover, infiltrate Stanton's fundraising gala in Chicago and successfully kidnap him despite Cooper's best efforts to stop them. Frank calls Cooper and says he is willing to trade Stanton for Sarah. At the meeting point, Dunning arrives and after a short dialogue shoots Stanton, revealing that he is the mastermind behind the assassinations and that Stanton was merely a pawn. Cooper's boss, Cynthia Wilkes (Rebecca Pidgeon), is also in on the plot. Disgusted with Dunning and Wilkes' greed and corruption, Cooper pretends to go along with handcuffing Frank before shooting Wilkes to death while Marvin and Victoria kill Dunning's bodyguards, and Frank crushes Dunning's windpipe, killing him. Cooper agrees to let Frank and his team go and he is left to sort things out. As they leave the scene, Frank and Sarah are eager to start a new life together.
Ivan reminds Frank that he owes him a favor. A few months later, Frank and Marvin are in Moldova, fleeing from Moldovan Army troops with a stolen nuclear device, with Marvin wearing a dress and in a wooden wheelbarrow being pushed by Frank.
